WHAT IS PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. PBIS is an approach to teaching and supporting appropriate behaviors and meeting the needs of ALL students. In PBIS, students are taught behavior expectations and procedures in the common areas of the school such as the classroom, restroom, lunch lines & tables, hallways & stairwells, and outside. PBIS strives on being a positive support system, where adults in the school recognize good behavior and decision making. PBIS in enforced by all the adults in the building.
